About the Program

This website provides you with the basic understanding you need to begin making lifestyle changes today, but making lifestyle changes on your own can be difficult. The NEWSTART^® Lifestyle Program is designed to provide you with the support and further education that you need to successfully retain or regain wellness.

THE MEDICAL STAFF

The Medical Staff who will be supporting you are a team of California board certified physicians, nurses providing 24-hour care, massage therapists, dietitians, cooking instructors, and exercise therapists. These professionals are dedicated to your success.

One of the unique features of the NEWSTART^®Lifestyle Program is the personalized attention that you will receive from your physician. In addition to regular appointments with your doctor in the NEWSTART^®Medical Clinic, you will benefit from his expertise in lifestyle medicine outside his office as well. In addition to daily wellness lectures, our physicians will meet with you in less formal settings by dining and walking with you.

All of this is designed to do one very important thing: to guide you step by step through the necessary lifestyle changes that will give you a NEWSTART^®on life.

DURING YOUR STAY, you will be invigorated by the beautiful mountainous surroundings. You will definitely want to venture out on our fifteen miles of walking/hiking trails where you can take a peaceful stroll along the creek, or hike among manzanita groves and fragrant ponderosa pines.

STIMULATED BY FRESH AIRE AND EXERCISE, your body will look forward to rest and relaxation. Relax and enjoy multiple sessions in our Hydrotherapy & Massage Department. A trained therapist will match your specific needs with the best hydrotherapy treatment available and follow this with a soothing therapeutic massage.

NUTRITION IS AN IMPORTANT ASPECT, of regaining your health. You will be delighted with our delicious plant-based cuisine attractively prepared by our expert chefs. You will also learn how to prepare these meals at home through participation in hands-on cooking instruction.

Details of the Program

MEDICAL SERVICES PROVIDED:

Complete Medical Evaluation – History and Physical Exam

Comprehensive Blood Chemistry Panel – at the beginning and at the end of the program

Treadmill exercise test at the beginning and at the end

Five Physician Follow-up appointments

Allergy testing available at an additional fee

PROGRAM SERVICES PROVIDED:

Daily Physician Lectures: The latest medical research presented in easily understood terms, with enough time for all questions. These lectures will give you enough confidence in lifestyle medicine as the best way to restore health and reverse disease.

Hydrotherapy: Boosts the immune system, detoxifies, and increases vascular circulation. Contrast showers, whirlpool baths, hot fomentations and Russian steam baths are a few of the treatments available to choose from. All these treatments are followed with a therapeutic massage!

Eighteen-day program: Eight, hour-long treatments

Hands-on Cooking Instruction: During the NEWSTART Lifestyle program you will learn how to transform the simplest of ingredients into delicious and healthy meals that your whole family will enjoy.

Eighteen-day program: Eleven, one-hour “hands-on” classes

Accommodations: The NEWSTART Lifestyle program is nestled in the foothills of the Sierra-Navada Mountains, providing a beautiful, stress free environment. As our guest you will enjoy a private room and bathroom, situated in the NEWSTART Lodge. Our expert chefs will prepare three bountiful plant-based meals a day. Depending on the time of year, during your stay – you will enjoy a variety of special outings to museums, historic sites and trips to nearby rivers.

FINANCIAL INFORMATION:

One cost – two payments: The Medical Service fees are collected separately by the NEWSTART Medical Clinic. This will allow them to assist you in seeking reimbursement from your insurance company for medical services rendered.

Medical Reimbursement: Medical Service fees are paid before or at the time of your first appointment. The NEWSTART Medical Clinic will assist you in seeking reimbursement from your medical insurance company. Note: reimbursement is dependent on your insurance company and their policy. Weimar Center cannot guarantee full or partial reimbursement of your Medical Service fees. (Program Service Fees generally are not covered by insurance. Confer with your tax consultant about whether these fees may reduce your tax liability).

How, Who & When to Pay: We accept Visa, Master Card, Discovery, American Express, personal check, or money orders. Check or money order payable for the Program Service fees can be made payable to Weimar Institute. Check or money order for the Medical Service fees can be made payable to NEWSTART Medical Clinic.

Reservations: To make reservations for the NEWSTART Lifestyle Program, a deposit of half the Program Service fees will secure your space. Medical Service fees are payable before or upon arrival at the NEWSTART Medical Clinic. Please note that there is a $500 non-refundable deposit if you cancel before the start of the program you booked for, it is however transferable to a future program for you, or someone else.

Visitors: Friends and relatives are welcome to visit guests participating in the NEWSTART Program. Special arrangements can be made for spouses to stay over night.
